lunar module Challenger
The last crewed Moon landing, with the longest stay on the surface.
The lunar module Challenger touched down on December 11, 1972 at 19:54 GMT (Taurus-Littrow valley), carrying Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt.
The two astronauts spent 74 h 59 min on the surface, 22 h 3 min of it outside the lunar module.
They brought 110.5 kg of lunar rock and soil back to Earth.
On their moonwalks they covered about 36 km in total.
The ascent stage returned to the command module waiting in lunar orbit; the descent stage still stands at the landing site.
