What is a condition-tree cart pricing rule?

Cart pricing rules (Magento "Cart Price Rules") implement if-then logic that automatically grants a discount based on what's in the cart - for example "if the subtotal is at least $50, apply a 10% discount", or "if there are at least 3 mugs in the cart, ship for free".

Every rule is made up of one or more conditions (attribute + operator + value, e.g. "category equals Electronics"), and the rule's combinator decides whether all conditions (ALL) or just at least one (ANY) must be true for the discount to activate.

This kind of rule engine is the backbone of pricing logic in real e-commerce systems (Magento/Adobe Commerce, Shopify) - it lets a store manager assemble arbitrarily complex promotions through an admin interface, without writing any code.

The demo runs the real engine: a rule built on the Admin tab immediately and genuinely affects the total shown on the Cart view - not a simulated preview.
