Odds & math

The dry combinatorics: how many ways a ticket can come up, and how far reality deviates from perfect randomness

MatchesCombinationsOdds
5 / 511 : 43 949 268
4 / 54251 : 103 410
3 / 535,7001 : 1 231
2 / 5987,7001 : 44,5
1 / 510,123,9251 : 4,3
0 / 532,801,5171 : 1,3

There are 43,949,268 distinct possible tickets in total — that's how many you'd need to guess exactly right for a 5/5. A chi-square test fitted to the frequency of the 90 numbers gives χ² = 108.64 (89 degrees of freedom, p ≈ 0.077): if the lottery weren't truly random, the gap between the most and least frequent number would have to be much larger. Our 3,624 draws fall exactly into the range a perfectly fair 90-ball draw would statistically produce — in other words, no number significantly "likes" or "avoids" coming up.

Ticket generator

How many tickets would you like to fill in?

For each ticket, it compares 400 random, frequency-weighted combinations, and picks the one that best fits the historical pattern in sum, odd/even ratio, consecutive pairs and decade-band coverage. This does not increase the real odds of winning either: every possible ticket has exactly the same odds.

The same odds apply to every single ticket, whichever you pick: roughly a 75% chance of 0 and a 23% chance of 1 match — that’s the mathematics of the lottery, not a flaw in the ticket (see the “Odds & math” table).
