During the Belgian Grand Prix weekend, 22-year-old French driver Anthoine Hubert was killed in the Formula 2 feature race; Charles Leclerc, who took his maiden F1 win in Sunday's race, dedicated the victory to his late friend. A week later, Leclerc won again at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza, giving Ferrari its first win on home soil in nine years. At the Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen passed long-time leader Leclerc with two laps to go, the two cars touching wheels without penalty from the stewards - the season's first win for a team other than Mercedes. Mercedes clinched its sixth consecutive constructors' title at the Japanese Grand Prix, matching Ferrari's 1999-2004 record and becoming the first team to win six straight drivers'-and-constructors' doubles. Lewis Hamilton won the 2019 Drivers' Championship with 413 points (Mercedes), 87 points ahead of the runner-up. Mercedes won the Constructors' Championship with 739 points, 235 points ahead of the runner-up. Across 21 completed races this season, there were 60 retirements. 5 different drivers won a race this season. Lewis Hamilton took the most race wins, 11 in total. Bottas won the season-opening race, the Australian Grand Prix. The most dominant win of the season came at the British Grand Prix, with a margin of 24.9 seconds.
