The Williams FW14B added active suspension, traction control and a semi-automatic gearbox to the FW14's already potent Newey aerodynamics - a package so dominant that no rival seriously challenged it all season. Mansell won a record nine races and wrapped up the title with five rounds still to go. Williams's technical edge was so overwhelming that the FW15, already tested mid-season, was never raced - the FW14B simply didn't need replacing. Nigel Mansell won the 1992 Drivers' Championship with 108 points (Williams), 52 points ahead of the runner-up. Williams won the Constructors' Championship with 164 points, 65 points ahead of the runner-up.
