Italian · 2020–2023
Toro Rosso announced in September 2019, and formally confirmed in December that year, that after fourteen years it would race on as AlphaTauri - the new name intended to promote Red Bull's fashion label of the same name. Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko said the rebrand also signalled that the team had graduated from being Red Bull Racing's plain junior outfit to a 'sister team.' Franz Tost stayed on as team principal after the rename, meaning the same figure led the outfit throughout AlphaTauri's entire existence. The team won straight away in its debut season, at the 2020 Italian Grand Prix: Pierre Gasly's victory was the first win by a French driver in twenty-four years, since Olivier Panis's 1996 Monaco triumph. From 2021 Gasly's teammate was Yuki Tsunoda, who remained with the team until 2023. AlphaTauri contested 83 races between 2020 and 2023 before Red Bull rebranded the outfit as RB, or Racing Bulls, from 2024. AlphaTauri's Formula 1 history ran from 2020 to 2023, 4 seasons in total as an Italian team. The team scored a total of 309 constructors' championship points. The team's best season was 2021, when it finished 6th in the Constructors' Championship with 142 points.
