Race summary

Verstappen won the race from 3rd on the grid, 13.9s ahead of Hamilton. Norris was the standout mover, climbing from 17th to 5th. Bottas lost the most ground, from 9th on the grid down to 15th (down 6 places). The safety car was deployed on lap 33. A virtual safety car (VSC) period was in effect on lap 5. The race was stopped with a red flag on laps 34-35. The winner made 3 pit stops: on lap 19 (medium → hard), on lap 33 (hard → hard), on lap 34 (hard → hard). The fastest pit stop went to Sainz (Ferrari) on lap 30, with 22.0s pit lane time. Hamilton set the fastest lap, in 1:21.334.
