Lyrids peak, 22 April 2028

The Lyrids meteor shower peaks on 22 April 2028 around 07:50 UTC. Under dark skies and ideal conditions up to ~18 meteors per hour can be seen (ZHR). The radiant, the point in the sky the meteors seem to come from, is at about 18.1 hours right ascension and 34° declination.

Visibility from Hungary (calculated for Budapest): the best moment to observe is 22 April 2028, 04:20 CEST: the target stands 76° high in the south, under a dark sky. The calculation is for Budapest; elsewhere in the country rise and set times differ by only a few minutes.
