British · 1997–1999
The team was founded by triple world champion Jackie Stewart and his son Paul, after signing a five-year factory engine deal with Ford in January 1996. Based in Milton Keynes, the squad made its Formula One debut in 1997 with Rubens Barrichello and Jan Magnussen as its drivers. Johnny Herbert scored the team's only Grand Prix win at the rain-soaked 1999 European Grand Prix on the new Nürburgring layout. In the same season, Barrichello took pole position at the French Grand Prix. In just its third season, 1999, Stewart finished fourth in the Constructors' Championship, ahead of established teams like Williams and Benetton. Ford bought the team outright at the end of that season, relaunching it as Jaguar Racing in 2000, which later became Red Bull Racing in 2005. Stewart raced in Formula 1 from 1997 to 1999, across 3 seasons as a British team. The team scored a total of 47 constructors' championship points. The team's best season was 1999, when it finished 4th in the Constructors' Championship with 36 points.
