Race summary

Verstappen won the race from 1st on the grid, 9.570s ahead of Alonso. Stroll was the standout mover, climbing from 16th to 9th. Hülkenberg lost the most ground, from 5th on the grid down to 15th (down 10 places). The safety car was deployed on laps 12-16. A virtual safety car (VSC) period was in effect on lap 8. The winner made 2 pit stops: on lap 12 (medium → hard), on lap 42 (hard → medium). The fastest pit stop went to Pérez (Red Bull) on lap 37, with 23.2s pit lane time. Pérez set the fastest lap, in 1:14.481.
