We don't have our own real GPS-telemetry-based 3D model for this circuit (typically a pre-2023 or discontinued venue). It was the only championship race ever held there, after which the circuit was dropped from the calendar on safety grounds. The race landed on the calendar almost by default: the Belgian and Dutch Grands Prix had been cancelled after disputes over start money, leaving a gap that Pescara filled - just weeks after the 1957 Mille Miglia disaster, which killed 13 people and led Italy to ban racing on public roads altogether; Pescara ran only because the government granted a special exemption. The circuit was no newcomer: it had hosted the Coppa Acerbo since 1924; its roughly triangular layout ran through Spoltore, Cappelle sul Tavo and Montesilvano, climbing to 185 metres at its highest point, a genuine mountain road. Enzo Ferrari kept his works team away from Pescara over safety concerns in the wake of the Mille Miglia disaster, leaving a thin field of just 16 drivers. Stirling Moss won in a Vanwall ahead of Juan Manuel Fangio's Maserati and Harry Schell's Maserati - given the sheer distance, the win was as much a test of endurance as of outright speed. An estimated 200,000 spectators watched the race, many from the windows and rooftops of houses lining the route through the villages, under blazing heat. You'll find it in Pescara, Italy. Only one Formula 1 race has been held here so far, in 1957, won by Stirling Moss.
