We don't have our own real GPS-telemetry-based 3D model for this circuit (typically a pre-2023 or discontinued venue). The outline below is a freely usable, hand-drawn circuit diagram. This layout was in use during: 1993.Circuit diagram: ROY Jules (julesr0y) (CC BY 4.0). source & licenseOther known layouts at this circuit: 1993Donington Park was England's first permanent park circuit, ending Brooklands' monopoly on the sport since 1907; it hosted its first motorcycle race on 25 May 1931 and got a permanent sealed surface by 1933. The pre-war Donington Grand Prix races drew Europe's finest: Bernd Rosemeyer won in 1937 and Tazio Nuvolari in 1938, both driving Auto Union's 'Silver Arrows,' before the circuit closed in 1940 due to the Second World War. Businessman and car collector Tom Wheatcroft bought the estate in 1971, funded the track's rebuild, and in 1973 opened the Donington Grand Prix Collection museum, home to the world's largest collection of Grand Prix cars until it closed in 2018. At the 1993 European Grand Prix, run in mixed wet-and-dry conditions, Ayrton Senna carved his way from fifth to first on the opening lap alone, a performance widely remembered as 'the Drive of the Decade.' Although Bernie Ecclestone announced in July 2008 that Donington would take over the British Grand Prix from 2010 under a 17-year deal, the leaseholder couldn't raise the required £135 million after the 2008 financial crisis; the deal collapsed by October 2009, and the British Grand Prix went to Silverstone instead. Owned by MotorSport Vision since 2017, the circuit now hosts around 60 race days a year, with capacity for 120,000 spectators. The circuit is located in Castle Donington, United Kingdom. Only one Formula 1 race has been held here so far, in 1993, won by Ayrton Senna.
