We don't have our own real GPS-telemetry-based 3D model for this circuit (typically a pre-2023 or discontinued venue). The outline below is a freely usable, hand-drawn circuit diagram. This layout was in use during: 1958,1960.Circuit diagram: ROY Jules (julesr0y) (CC BY 4.0). source & licenseOther known layouts at this circuit: 1958,1960The street circuit wound through central Porto, from the harbourfront promenade along Avenida da Boavista, crossing tram lines and cobblestone streets before threading back through narrow neighbourhoods to the start/finish line. The 1958 Portuguese Grand Prix was Portugal's first-ever round of the Formula One World Championship; the race returned to Boavista again in 1960, giving the circuit two championship visits in total. At the 1958 race, Stirling Moss defended his title rival Mike Hawthorn from disqualification after Hawthorn, following a spin, had push-started his stalled car against the flow of oncoming traffic; the stewards let it stand after Moss intervened, Hawthorn kept his second place and points, and went on to win the championship by just a single point over Moss. The 1960 race, won by Jack Brabham in a Cooper-Climax, turned into a race of attrition; John Surtees claimed his maiden F1 pole position, while Jim Clark scored his first-ever podium finish, third place. The high speeds next to houses, combined with the tram tracks and cobbles, made the circuit widely seen as unsuited to Formula 1 long-term; after the 1960 race, Portugal vanished from the Formula One calendar for 24 years, only returning in 1984, at the newly built Autódromo do Estoril. You'll find it in Oporto, Portugal. On the calendar since 1958, this circuit has hosted 2 races, the latest in 1960. Stirling Moss took the inaugural win here in 1958. Jack Brabham won here most recently, in 1960.
